Join our waiting list to help care for and handle our 70+ animals

We take on a small number of volunteers, and places do not come up often — so this is a waiting list rather than an application to start next week. Tell us about yourself and we will be in touch when there is space.

You do not need experience with exotic animals. Willingness, reliability and a calm manner matter far more — we can teach the rest. Volunteers help with daily care, cleaning and preparation, and support sessions alongside a member of staff. Volunteers do not run sessions on their own.

About DBS checks. Everyone working with us holds a DBS check, because we work with children and vulnerable adults. It is an Enhanced check if you will be working unsupervised with children, and at least a Basic check for everyone else, including volunteers working with the animals. If you do not have one, that is not a problem — we can arrange it. We just need to know where you stand.
