Come and meet some truly amazing animals 🐾

Private handling sessions, birthday parties, care home visits and animal-assisted therapy — run by Ciera and her small hand-picked team, who genuinely love every single one of her 70+ animals. Meet the team.

We have a real venue, not just a van. Seventy animals live here in Warlingham, in a heated room with a rainforest sensory den built into it — included in every session here, not an add-on. Coming to us is a proper day out, not a visit that packs up after an hour. We come to you as well.

And we do the thing party companies can’t. Ciera is a Level 3 Animal Assisted Therapy practitioner, so alongside parties we deliver EHCP-funded alternative provision and animal-assisted intervention commissioned by schools and local authorities. See how AAI works.

🐾 Baby joeys Our sugar glider babies have opened their eyes and they are still clinging onto mum — the sweetest little things you'll ever see!
Baby sugar glider joey clinging to a pencil

This little joey has discovered a pencil and won't let go — it's just like a tiny branch to them, and clinging on is completely natural. Sugar gliders are arboreal marsupials, so gripping onto things is what they do best from day one!

Animal Assisted Intervention session

Animal-Assisted Intervention (AAI)

Structured AAI programmes for children and young people with SEND — designed to be commissioned by local authorities, schools, or alternative provision settings. It can be written into Section F of an EHCP — the part of the plan that lists the special educational provision a council must arrange and pay for.

AAI uses purposeful, facilitated interaction with animals to support emotional regulation, learning readiness, confidence and social development. The approach is experiential rather than talk-based — animals act as calming, motivating presences that enable engagement and emotional safety.

  • Emotional regulation and self-management
  • Communication, social skills and trust
  • Confidence and anxiety reduction
  • 3 sessions a week — 2 × 90 mins + 1 × 3 hrs (6 hours weekly)

Delivered by a Level 3 Award in Animal Assisted Therapy — Oplex Careers (CPD certified). All sessions are structured, documented and outcome-focused to align with SEND and EHCP requirements.

Birthday party animal handling

Birthday parties

Make their birthday unforgettable — I bring the animals to you for a hands-on party experience they'll never forget. Perfect for kids and adults alike. Parties run for 60 minutes and packages start at £250 for up to 10 children — see all the packages and what is included.

Choose which animals you'd like, and I'll handle the rest — setup, supervision and cleanup. Every party is tailored to the birthday child's interests and age group.

🏠 Indoor venues are preferred as many of our animals are cold-blooded and need warmth.

  • We travel to you — up to 10 miles included
  • Tailored to the birthday child's favourite animals
  • Suitable for all ages — kids and adults
  • Fully insured, licensed, Enhanced DBS checked

Quiet sensory sessions

For a child who cannot manage a busy setting, this is often the only version of a day out that works. Our rainforest sensory den is built into the animal room itself, so your child can step into it and settle without leaving the session — and animals can come in with them.

Sound-resistant fibre optic ceiling, bubble wall, dimmable colour-changing lighting, weighted blanket and lap pad, crash mat, beanbags, spinning chair, fidget boards, visual timers and cards, and ear defenders we provide. Music they choose, or none at all.

  • Included with every session at our centre — no extra cost, no need to ask
  • Completely private — your group, the keeper and the animals
  • An hour spent quietly in the den with a rabbit is a perfectly normal session
  • Reduced SEN rates apply — £18 weekday, £22 weekend
Care home residents enjoying a leopard gecko visit Care home resident with Rosie the Galah cockatoo

Care home visits

Some of the most rewarding work we do. We bring a carefully selected group of calm, gentle animals into care homes — and the response from residents is truly overwhelming. Eyes light up, conversations start, and smiles appear that the staff say they haven't seen in months.

Every animal chosen for care home visits is hand-picked for its calm temperament and suitability around elderly residents. From a friendly leopard gecko resting gently on a hand, to our beautiful Galah cockatoo perching happily alongside residents — each interaction is supervised, unhurried and full of warmth.

  • Calm, gentle animals selected specifically for care settings
  • Overwhelmingly positive feedback from homes visited
  • Supports wellbeing, engagement and social connection
  • Fully insured, Enhanced DBS checked and licensed

Ciera with a young visitor

“I was the child who couldn’t get through the school gates, and the only thing that helped was animals”

Pets on the Green exists because of that. Every session here is built on it — no child is asked to be someone they aren’t, and no family is left working it out on their own. It is also the place to come if you simply want an hour with a sugar glider on your hand, or to watch a giant tortoise stretch out for a strawberry.

We have used Ciera on numerous occasions to look after our two beautiful golden retrievers. She has proved to be 100% professional, reliable and most importantly the kindest person. Her love and compassion for all animals shines through. I myself work at a vets and I would not hesitate to recommend her, except I’d like to keep her for myself!

📋 General
How much is it?+
Private sessions are £20 per person on weekdays and £25 per person at weekends. SEN sessions are £18 per person on weekdays and £22 per person at weekends. Bulk bookings get 10% off standard packages and 5% off SEN packages. Mobile parties at your venue are priced per party, not per person: £250 up to 10 children, £300 up to 15, £350 up to 20 and £450 up to 30. Schools, nurseries and clubs are from £250 per hour and care homes from £225 per hour. Add-ons include a bathing experience at £10 — a hedgehog or skinny pig bath is nearly always available — and party bags in several tiers. Visit the booking page or download the app for up-to-date pricing and availability. See how our prices compare with other providers.
What add-ons are available?+
A bathing experience can be added to a session at our centre for £10 — it is not available on mobile bookings. A hedgehog or skinny pig bath is nearly always available. We keep around 20 hedgehogs and bath each of them twice a month, and the skinny pigs the same, so there is nearly always one due a bath. A bearded dragon or tortoise bath is offered only when one of them actually needs a bath, since we do not have multiples of either. Our own animal-themed party bags are available in several tiers for mobile parties — see what goes in them.
Are you insured and qualified?+
  • Public Liability Insurance
  • Animal Activities Licence — Tandridge Council
  • Enhanced DBS Checked
  • NESCOT Animal Management
  • Level 3 Award in Animal Assisted Therapy — Oplex Careers (CPD certified)
Where are you located?+
4 Redvers Road, Warlingham, CR6 9HN, Surrey. Public events at client locations — charges apply beyond 10 miles.
Can you invoice us?+
Yes. Schools, nurseries, care homes and local authorities can be invoiced against a purchase order — we invoice local authorities directly and have done so. We can also provide a dated written quote for a funding application or a personal budget. If you are using an EHCP personal budget, social care direct payments or short breaks funding, see the funding routes. Just message us rather than paying by card.
How do I book and pay?+
Book online through the website or the app. Bookings are paid in full when you book. Schools, nurseries, care homes and local authorities can be invoiced against a purchase order — get in touch rather than booking online.
Cancellation policy?+

Sessions at our centre:

  • 7+ days notice: Full refund
  • Less than 7 days: 50% refund, or reschedule at no charge
  • Within 48 hours: No refund

Mobile bookings — parties, events, care homes, groups:

  • 7+ days notice: Full refund
  • 5–6 days: 50% refund, or reschedule at no charge
  • Fewer than 5 days: No refund — and if the booking has not been paid for, the full amount remains payable

We're a small business and our calendar is getting busier — especially during half terms and holidays. When a session is cancelled at short notice, that slot often can't be filled, and it's a slot someone else could have booked. For larger groups, we also commit to additional staffing costs in advance. This policy helps us keep things fair for everyone. Full terms

SEND reduced rates?+
Yes — reduced rates for SEND children, adults and their carers. SEN sessions are £18 per person on weekdays and £22 per person at weekends. Bulk SEN package bookings receive 5% off. The SEN rate applies to everyone in the group and is available on production of an access card or comparable documentation. Nobody attends free, including carers — there is no separate spectator rate, the one exception being commissioned alternative provision, where a carer is not charged. Everyone in the room is part of the session: they take the keeper’s attention and count towards what the animals can comfortably manage, whether they handle anything or not. Rather than a free companion place, the SEN rate brings the price down for everyone in your group.
Terms and conditions?+
Our full terms cover bookings, cancellations, session conduct, travel policy, animal handling risk & liability, and more. Read our full terms and conditions
Privacy policy?+
We take your privacy seriously. Our policy covers what data we collect, how we use it, your rights under UK GDPR, and how to contact us. We never sell your personal data. Read our privacy policy
🏡 Private sessions
Which animals can I see?+

Our collection spans both vertebrates and invertebrates — over 35 species:

  • •  Birds — Rosie, our Lutino galah cockatoo
  • •  Mammals — African pygmy hedgehogs, sugar gliders, Netherland dwarf rabbits, guinea pigs, skinny pigs, fancy mice
  • •  Reptiles — Aldabra giant tortoise, panther chameleons (Ambilobe, Nosy Mitsio, Nosy Be), orange zero iguana, bearded dragon, leachianus gecko, leopard geckos, crested geckos, royal pythons (albino and piebald), corn snake, Bosc monitor, blue-tongued skink, map turtles, diamondback terrapin
  • •  Amphibians — White's tree frogs, African bullfrog
  • •  Invertebrates — orchid mantis, giant Asian mantis, giant Malaysian leaf insects, Vietnamese giant stick insects, giant African land snails, Asian forest scorpion, rainbow stag beetle, sun beetle, sapphire flower beetle, vampire crab, and six millipedes — giant African, Thai rainbow, red banded, brown, Hawaiian glow and Siamese glow
  • •  Fish — tropical fish and cherry shrimp, on display at our centre

A green bottle blue tarantula and Sazimi’s tarantula belong to one of the team, so they are only here on the days she works and she does not always bring them. They can be handled and they can travel — ask before you book and we will tell you whether it is possible on your date.

How many people per session?+
For private experiences at our venue the minimum charge is for 2 places and the maximum is 10 people including adults. One person can come on their own — you just pay for two places. Mobile parties and group visits are counted differently. If you’re 16 or over you’re welcome to book and come on your own. Young people attending commissioned alternative provision may attend alone under the arrangements agreed with their school or local authority.
Do all attendees pay?+
At our centre, yes — everyone in the room has a paid place whether they handle animals or not, including carers and anyone who just wants to watch or take photos. Commissioned alternative provision is the one exception, where a carer is not charged. Babies under 1 are free if they stay in a carrier or on a lap; from their first birthday a child counts as a person. So 1 adult + 1 child = 2 people, and 1 adult + 1 baby under 1 = 1 person. Mobile birthday parties are counted differently — there you pay for the people handling, and spectators come free up to the same number as handlers. For private experiences at our venue, under-16s must be accompanied by at least one adult, and guests aged 16 and over may attend alone. Alternative provision placements are a different type of booking — a young person may attend alone under arrangements agreed with their school or local authority, and these are arranged by contacting us rather than booked online.
Can I get help paying?+
Possibly — several funding routes exist for exactly this: EHCP personal budgets, social care direct payments, short breaks funding and Family Fund grants. See the funding routes and the law behind each one. We can invoice a local authority directly.
What should I wear?+
The animal room is heated and air conditioned to keep the animals at a comfortable temperature, which makes it comfortable for you too. Avoid loose jewellery or dangling accessories that curious animals might grab.
What about allergies?+
Sessions involve hay, bedding and animal fur/dander. If you or anyone in your group has allergies, please let us know when booking so we can advise and prepare.
Is it wheelchair accessible?+
Yes — we are fully wheelchair friendly. We have a flat driveway and garden with a ramp into the animal room. If you have any specific accessibility needs, just let us know when booking and we'll make sure everything is ready for you.
Can I take photos?+
Absolutely! Photos and videos are encouraged — capture your experience and share your favourite moments. We love being tagged on social media.
🎉 Events & visits
Which animals travel?+

Most of the collection can come to you — mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates.

See the plain list of which animals travel → No photos, just the rundown — or browse them with pictures.

Indoor venues only, whatever the weather: sugar gliders, leachianus gecko and the smaller invertebrates — they can’t cope with temperature swings.

Everyone else is weather dependent. On a cold or wet day some species stay home — we’ll tell you in advance and bring alternatives.

You choose up to 10 species, and if one is unavailable on the day we bring something similar rather than turn up short.

Are there travel costs?+
First 10 miles included. Beyond that, charged per journey, not each way: 11–20 miles £35, 21–30 miles £60, 31–45 miles £90. Maximum 45 miles — if you’re further away it is still worth asking, as a quicker motorway route with welfare stops can sometimes work. We can’t guarantee it. See our full travel & mobile sessions policy
What do I need to prepare?+
A safe, enclosed space. Keep dogs or cats in another room while the animals are out.
💚 SEND & AAI
Ciera's qualifications?+
Level 3 Award in Animal Assisted Therapy — Oplex Careers (CPD certified), NESCOT Animal Management, Animal Activities Licence (Tandridge), Enhanced DBS checked, fully insured.
What is AAI?+
Purposeful, facilitated interaction with animals to support emotional regulation, confidence and social development. Experiential, not talk-based.
Can AAI go in an EHCP?+
Yes — can be specified in Section F. Designed for commissioning by local authorities, schools or alternative provision.
How are sessions structured?+
Arrival & regulation, facilitated activities, reflection, closure. Provision runs at 3 sessions a week — two of 90 minutes and one of 3 hours, six hours weekly. It is ongoing and reviewed termly, with typical progress observed by session 12–16. All documented and outcome-focused.
What outcomes does AAI support?+
  • Emotional regulation
  • Communication & social skills
  • Confidence & anxiety reduction
  • Engagement & learning readiness
  • Trust & relationship building
Why does Ciera specialise in SEND?+
Ciera was diagnosed with autism, ADHD, ARFID and severe anxiety. She received an EHCP and moved to NESCOT's 14–16 provision. Being around animals was the only thing that truly helped — that experience drives everything she does with SEND families today.
