Pets on the Green Q&A 🙋♀️🩷
Q: What animals do you have?
A: We have nearly 30 species across all 6 major animal categories — mammals, reptiles, avian, amphibians, invertebrates and fish. For the exact animal species list you can find this on
https://petsonthegreen.com/my-pets/ – we genuinely have something for everyone.
Q: Can I just come for a cuddle or do I need a reason to visit?
A: You absolutely do not need a reason! Whether you want an hour of calm with some animals, a birthday experience, or you’re exploring therapy and learning options — you’re welcome here.
Q: What is animal assisted therapy and how is it different to just handling animals?
A: Animal assisted therapy is a structured, goal-led approach where interaction with animals is used to support emotional regulation, communication, confidence and wellbeing. It’s delivered with intention — not just a fun visit, though it is that too!
Q: Can it be funded? I can’t afford to pay privately.
A: Yes — there are funding pathways available through the council for eligible families. Get in touch and we can talk you through the options.
Q: Is it suitable for children with SEND?
A: It’s genuinely where we do some of our best work. We support children with autism, PDA, ADHD, anxiety and complex needs every day. Our environment is calm, sensory-friendly and completely led by the child.
Q: What is the sensory den?
A: Our Rainforest Regulation Den is a dedicated calm space designed to support emotional regulation. It’s available during sessions and is particularly popular with children who need a moment to decompress.
Q: How old do you have to be to visit?
A: All ages are welcome to our 1-1 private encounters. We tailor every session to the individual — whether that’s a toddler having their first animal encounter or an adult coming for their own wellbeing.
Q: Where are you based?
A: We’re in Warlingham, Surrey. Full address and directions are on our website.
Q: How do I book?
A: Head to petsonthegreen.com and hit Book Now.
Q: Do you do school visits and outreach?
A: Yes! We bring the animals to you — curriculum-linked sessions, sensory experiences and alternative provision outreach. Get in touch to chat about what we can put together for your setting.
