Pets on the Green
What each one covers, and what it means for you
Pets on the Green Ltd has a full set of written policies. They are reviewed every year, and you can see any of them on request.
| Policy | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Safeguarding and child protection | Ciera O’Rourke is our Designated Safeguarding Lead and Alanah Banner is Deputy. Every concern is acted on the same day and referred to Surrey C-SPA or the LADO where needed. Everyone working with children has the right DBS check. |
| Code of conduct, safer recruitment, whistleblowing and allegations | Clear standards for staff and volunteers, careful checks before anyone starts, and a safe way to raise concerns about anyone working for us. |
| Lone working | Only Ciera and trained paid staff ever work one-to-one. Volunteers and family helpers never work alone. |
| Behaviour, anti-bullying and online safety | A calm, low-demand approach. We never use restraint or punishment. |
| Photography and recording | No photos or video without your written, opt-in consent. How long we keep recordings is set out in our audio and video recording policy. |
| Animal welfare | Every animal has a care plan, rest days and limits on handling, under our Animal Activities Licence (014153). |
| Health and safety, risk, fire, missing child and medication | Every session and venue is risk assessed. Handwashing with soap and water after every animal contact. |
| Equality and diversity | Sessions are adapted to each child’s needs, including their EHCP where they have one. |
Safeguarding concerns are never handled as complaints. Tell Ciera or Alanah straight away, or contact Surrey C-SPA on 0300 470 9100 (out of hours 01483 517898). In an emergency, call 999.
We only collect what we need to deliver sessions safely, keep it securely, and share it only with the people involved in your child’s placement — such as their school or council — or where the law requires. You can ask to see, correct or delete your information at any time. Our full privacy notice is in our privacy policy.
Some of this you do not need to ask for at all. Our risk assessments are published in full, and our compliance page sets out our licence, insurance and DBS position.
The things we do not publish are the full internal policy documents, because they contain staff records, concern logs and safeguarding procedure, and the certificates themselves, which carry reference numbers. Ask and we will send whichever you need, usually the same working day.
We love hearing from you, and the easiest way to reach us is by email or message. Having everything written down means we can look back at the details and make sure we get your booking just right. We’ll always get back to you.
